City identifies nine red light camera intersections

The city of Austin has identified nine intersections for red light cameras. Cameras will be installed in April and are expected to be operational on May 1. The intersections are:

Olympus Stylus 770 SW digital camera

The Olympus Stylus 770 SW is rugged and reasonably good looking. And that's pretty much where the praise runs out.

The 7.1-megapixel camera is designed for rough outdoor use, with a sealed housing that's shockproof, freeze-proof, and crush-proof, and waterproof to depths of 33 feet to boot. It even has a manometer, which records the depth or altitude at which a photo was shot. The waterproof part is no gimmick, as the camera shrugged off repeated dunkings in salt water on a couple of kayak expeditions. If we had the time to go to Alaska, it no doubt also would have laughed at repeated drops onto the frozen tundra.

Downsides? In Macworld jury tests, the camera did receive Good ratings across the board, but many shots came out soft and overexposed, and there's little room to override the camera's decisions.

Solons hit PNP over plan to put ‘spy cam’ in Senate

They, more than us, need to be protected at this time, I think, he said in a radio interview.

Senate Sergeant-at-Arms (OSAA) chief Maj. Gen. (ret.) Jose Balajadia said two policemen went to the chambers building around 3 p.m. last Saturday saying theyre out to conduct survey on the premises for the installation of CCTVs.

They introduced themselves

as from the PNP. Im not saying theyre from PNP. But they told my supervisor on duty who went to see them, that theyre from PNP. They said they will make a request through their RD (regional director) on Tuesday, Balajadia said.

Balajadia, who was immediately contacted by the supervisor on duty, blocked them.

We already have our own system, our kind of CCTVs which is I think is more modern than then because it can secure the Senate even up to Macapagal Boulevard.
